Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Tournament

For any of you that don't have the joy of direct pestering from myself, I wanted you to know that there is currently a COD tournament being organised. It'll be the biggest thing we've ever done. Right now, there are few details, but what we do know is:

There will be an entry fee: Most likely £1 in order to secure some sort of decent prizes.

It will be a points-based league, much like the Street Fighter tournament.

It will consist of Hardcore modes only: Team Deathmatch, Headquarters, Search and Destroy.

It will have 2-man teams going up against eachother.

That's what we know right now, but for anyone interested, please let us know here or on the blog so that we can start to organise it. The more people we have, the better it is. We're also open to suggestions conerning the rules (e.g. No U.A.V's).

yeah ideas are still being floated about for this, so feel free to pass them about here and be one with the matrix. ahem.

uavs, airstrikes and helicoptors will also be turned off, we want a pure firefight. all perks are allowed although people using last stand, martyrdom and juggarnaut will be scoffed at.

Does anybody ACTUALLY use martyrdom on hardcore? -10 points for them

does anyone use martyrdom on hardcore? you normally find out when i scream "MARTYRDOM!?! ON FRICKING HARDCORE!!!??! WHAT KIND OF A NONCE ARE YOU!"

does anyone fancy a few 'friendly' matches until this kick's off properly? also how will the game variant/map be decided before warfare commences?

Shipment would be hot as hell for it, but once thefauxbot sorts out the exact structure etc. (and we have all played a friendly game so we are all happy with it) I guess we could put it to a vote and have the top three voted maps (that'd be chinatown out then...) to be picked from and agreement from both teams before the start.
Just an idea, so tell me what you think.

yeah practice runs would be good, get a rough idea what does and doesnt work before we rush into a league!

maps wise, my idea is that each game consists of three rounds, first two rounds each team picks a map, and the third we be decided at random by us, the organisers. thought it'd keep it fair and add a bit more tactical awareness to it all. it'll also help add some variety, i'm sure everyone has their favourite maps so it'll at least go between the two players of each team and then the organisers ourselves to select them at random.

well... i did pretty darn well=D nah we'll try and keep things as balanced as possible, maybe a voting system on the forum could be implemented?

This tourny could be quite a good laugh, I'm looking forward to seeing the rules etc. How does the listen to opposing team chatter perk work? Do you have to be close to them? If it does work well there will have to be a rule that states in-game chat will have to be used as opposed to party chat.

yeah in game would work much better anyway, as we'll have to talk to each other to make sure its set up right, if you use the perk to listen to the other team then its all good=]

we really need to srot out a few games in this format to see how it works and any tweaking, i'm thinking 5 minutes a round, 250 points limit? 3 rounds, 1 team chooses a map then theres a certain map every round for the third game. all perks are all good, EVEN martyrdom and last stand, any weapons, hardcore rules with no UAVs, airstrikes or helicoptors.

any other ideas?
